Supplementation is key to maximizing workouts, are you taking your supplements?

Pure Fitness spokesperson Jolyn flexing to show how supplements have helped her 1. Why should I use Apex instead of other supplements?

  •  We sell programs, not products. Our supplements are designed to complement each other based on individual diets and goals, preventing excessive intakes and conserving finances.
  •  Our formulas are produced by a pharmaceutically licensed manufacturer incorporating drug GMPs (good manufacturing practices) and available USP (United States Pharmacopeia) validation methods.
  •  Our products use of sophisticated delivery systems to release nutrients in the right place and at the right time.

2. If I am on the Apex Program, can I still take other supplements?

  •  Our supplements are for supporting health and fitness goals, and by maintaining the Apex brand for this purpose there is no reason to waste money on other products.
  •  We do not recommend or produce supplements for medical purposes. That should only be done by a qualified clinical health care professional.
  • Check with your physician if taking supplements for treatment of a medical condition.

3. If I don't take the supplements, does that mean I won't get any results or that the results won't happen as fast?

  • Proper supplementation aids in creating an ideal physiological environment for change.
  • Our goal is to never have the body in want. When diet and your time in the gym are maximized, supplementation can offer an edge in the pursuit of one's goal.
  • If a person decides not to supplement, then reaching the goal may take impeccable adherence to a difficult diet and exercise regime.
  • Those in pursuit of lofty goals such as very low body fat and a high degree of LBM (bodybuilding/fitness competitions) or maximal athletic performance and recovery (such as in competitive sport) may never reach their full potential by relying diet and exercise modulations alone.
  • Proper use of supplementation in your diet can hasten results economically, increasing motivation and adherence. Goal-enhancing supplements are not necessary to maintain a typical exerciser's goal.

4. Why choose supplements over natural food products (if they are cooked and prepared properly)? What did we do before supplements?

  • There is no substitute for a diet of natural whole food, only substances to supplement it
  • In the days before supplements, most people were not trying to lose fat and gain muscle.
  • Before the 20th century, the average diet for a woman could exceed 5000 calories per day without her gaining weight. Her food came from nutrient rich soil and from cows and poultry that were not “pumped up” with hormones. Today, the average woman gains weight on 1800 calories per day from foods grown by a variety of methods.

5. Will supplements alter the chemistry in my body?

  • Not in a detrimental manner. Apex Supplements are not drugs. They have been carefully designed for use within the program to improve body chemistry.
  • We do not recommend or produce supplements for medicinal purposes. That should only be done by a qualified clinical health care professional.
  • Our supplements are for supporting health and fitness goals and should enhance normal body functioning.

6. How is the Apex Multi-Vitamin better than Centrum or One-a-Day?
  • Unlike a one-size-fits-all and “releases all” approach, Apex supplements are "tailored" to complement you and your diet. They aid in maintaining a safe optimal nutrient range, 24 hours per day using a controlled release delivery system.

7. Do I have to keep taking the supplements even after I finish my program or reach my fitness goals?

  • For optimal health your diet should always have a multivitamin and complementary anti-oxidant, but anything else should not be necessary for the vast majority of exercisers.
  • Many people continue to use a meal replacement formula (Fitness Fast Food) due to its convenience, economic advantage, or just in case whole food is not available.

8. If the Apex supplements are that good, why haven't I heard of them before?

  • Apex designs complete fitness programs. Supplementation is an important part of this goal, so we have formulas manufactured for use in a complete program.
  • We believe that proper supplement use should be based upon a person's education, food, exercise and goal. Because of this, we do not sell our products at health food stores, grocery stores or through discount warehouses. These locations are for consumers who buy from advertisements, not education.
  • Our formulas are only available at facilities that utilize our systems, support materials and have a staff educated on the proper use of our compounds. Because of this, there is virtually no indiscriminate use of our supplements.

9. Why do some supplements give me headaches or make me break out?

  • This reaction is very rare but if taking supplements causes these symptoms, you are probably very susceptible to some specific nutrient or combination of nutrients. Reduce the dose; if symptoms continue discontinue use and contact the Apex Corporate Office.

10. I've heard that some vitamins can be toxic. How can I be sure that I won't get too much?

  •  This is a valid concern. We sell individualized programs, not products. Your Apex supplement recommendation will include only what you need. Additionally, in an industry first, we design our formulas with interaction and compatibility in mind.
  • As an example, our anti-oxidant formula is designed to combine with the multivitamin formulas, ensuring that the level of nutrients is safe and optimal.
  • When mixing multiple product lines as well as different formulas from one manufacturer, this synergy is not present.

11. Why does Apex Fit Drink Mix (High Performance) have only 20 grams of protein?

  •  That is the amount contained in one serving. If your diet calls for more or less, adjust the amount you use to suit your needs.
  •  Meal replacement formulas are just as the name implies, a meal replacement. Since an appropriately designed meal should be higher in carbohydrates than protein, the rules should not change just because it is in a powder or bar form.
  •  Also, many people use meal replacements for post workout recovery, where carbohydrates, not protein, is the most crucial to ingest.
  • The current crop of very high protein drinks and bars are produced simply because the buying public has been marketed to believe they need them, not due to scientific data demonstrating a benefit. There is none, unless they are utilized to fulfill the needs of a diet lacking protein.

12. Why should I take Apex Meal Replacement Drinks when I can take other more advertised ones?
  •  Do the other drinks know what you are eating and your total supplement intake?
  •  Apex Meal Replacement Drinks complement all Apex supplements intake so you stay in the safe optimal range.

13. Why is my urine bright yellow when I take supplements?
  •  This is very normal and is usually due to water-soluble pigmented components of B Vitamins and/or Beta-Carotene.
  • Enzyme levels in the body increase or decrease according to nutrient intake. If you have not been taking supplements appropriately it will take the body time to utilize the extra vitamins and minerals forcing it to harmlessly excrete the unused nutrients.
  • Within a few weeks the color intensity should diminish as the body adapts by increasing enzyme activity. However, there should always be some slight coloration of the urine when using a multivitamin, suggesting proper tissue saturation.

14. How can I be sure that the Apex product delivery system is as good as you say it is?

  • We test it. The supplement industry is required to perform one test - disintegration. According to the law, a supplement must fall apart and pass through a screen of specified size within 45 minutes.
  • Following drug GMPs and pharmaceutical USPs, as our manufacturer does, requires multiple tests from raw materials to the finished product. Over 26 quantitative and qualitative tests in all. Our manufacturer goes beyond disintegration and performs extensive dissolution testing. This allows us to verify what, where and when the active ingredients may be utilized by the body.
  • It is interesting to note that 12% of the raw materials presented to our manufacturer are refused upon delivery due to failing the initial raw material purity and potency test.
  • Manufacturers that do not test to this degree may never know the quality of their raw materials.

15. Are Apex products all natural?

  • As natural as can be. All nutrients are extracted from natural food products, put in their natural bio-available forms (saving the body work), enrobed in natural gums and cellulose for controlled release, then put into tablets and coated with only natural fibers.

16. I can't swallow pills. Can I get my vitamins another way?

  • Try putting the tablet inside a tablespoonful of applesauce or yogurt. If that does not work, break the tablet into pieces or blend the tablet in a blender with juice. Though this may affect the delivery systems of the pill, taking Apex supplements this way is still far better than taking anything else on the market because the formula is still intact.

17. Why does the Fit Drink Mix (High Performance) have so much sugar?

  •  The government definition of sugar is "any mono or disaccharide (single or double sugar unit). Sucrose, or table sugar, is a disaccharide. Fructose, found in fruit, is a monosaccharide. This working definition was designed to help consumers make healthier food choices when shopping. Unfortunately, it does not distinguish between a good sugar and a bad sugar. If one took the recommendation to limit sugars literally, then no one would ever consume fruit, as it is riddled with fructose. Fructose, however, has some distinct advantages as a "sugar". It is very sweet, improving the taste of the product it is in, and it enters the blood stream slowly. This prevents fructose from causing the "sugar crash" that many people experience with other simple sugars. How quickly a sugar enters the blood stream, and the response of insulin to this rise, is called the Glycemic Index. The closer the number is to 100, the greater the chance of a sugar crash following its consumption. Fructose receives a score of 20-25, indicating that it does not elicit a strong insulin response. Next time you see sugar on the label, look in the ingredients to see what it is before you say it has too much sugar.
  • Fructose should be the sweetener of choice in a meal replacement. It is extremely expensive which is why other companies do not use it and then hide behind the general population's belief that sugar is bad.

18. My doctor told me I don't need supplements. Why should I take yours?

  • In June 2002 the Journal of the American Medical Association published position papers supporting the recommendation that every American adult take at least one multivitamin tablet daily.
  • When consulting a MD, ask about his/her background in diet and nutrition. You wouldn't ask your doctor what car to buy, don't ask the typical MD about nutrition and supplementation.
  • Our staff and advisory board include many of the top nutrition experts that study the area of supplementation extensively.

19. What are these supplements going to do for my body?

  • Proper supplementation aids in creating an ideal physiological environment for change.
  • Our goal is to never have the body in want. When diet and your time in the gym are maximized, supplementation can offer an edge in the pursuit of one's goal.
  • If a person decides not to supplement, then reaching the goal may take impeccable adherence to a difficult diet and exercise regime.
  • Those in pursuit of lofty goals such as very low body fat and a high degree of LBM (bodybuilding/fitness competitions) or maximal athletic performance and recovery (such as in competitive sport) may never reach their full potential with diet and exercise modulations alone.
  • Proper use of supplementation in your diet can hasten results economically, increasing motivation and adherence. Goal-enhancing supplements are not necessary to maintain a typical exerciser's goal.

20. What are the other four manufacturers that operate under a pharmaceutical registration from the FDA and whose supplements do they make?
  • We have no idea - never looked into it. However, it is one issue that you would certainly exploit.
  •  If a supplement company does not boast that it uses one of the licensed manufacturers, then it probably doesn't. If the supplement manufacturer does not operate under a pharmaceutical registration from the FDA (most do not), you cannot be assured of the same high quality.
